I do 6k miles a year (mainly 6-mile journeys @ 30 mph) and until very recently would have never considered a diesel. However, I've come across a number of HJ comments (see links below) reassuring potential buyers that the new Mazda 2.2 Skyactiv diesel engine should not suffer DPF problems thanks to its exhaust manifold in head configuration.
