Looking for a 26” fork with boost spacing. Building/modifying a used Trailcraft Maxwell 26 bike for my kid. It came with an MRP Ribbon Air 27.5 fork with 140mm travel and 15x110 TA. I’m looking to make the bike a bit more XC oriented. It has 26” wheels on it (boost spacing, obvi). Trying to get as short of axle-to-crown as possible. Optional FOX 36/38 Mud Guard with sturdy 4-point direct-mount attachment. Air Spring. FLOAT EVOL. Steerer. 1.5 Taper. Starting Weight. 4.28 lb / 1942g (F-S 36, 29”, 160mm Travel, KaboltX 110, 3 Pos-Adj)*. * Fork weights shown are at 165mm steerer length with star fangled nut and disc brake guide installed.

27.5″ for a wheel sized 584 mm. Also known as 650B. Differences in diameters, in cm, between standards are the following: 26″ [2.5 cm] 27.5″ [3.8 cm] 29″. So a substantial difference is between the smallest 26″ and the largest 29″ – whole 6.3 cm, while 27.5″ is just slightly larger than the smallest 26″. 2.
I have been riding a Surly Instigator 2.0 as a 26er for this past season- it is a 26+ frame (27.5 compatible). Bike rode great as a 26 and I just recently converted to 27.5 with OEM Sektor forks and Azonic Outlaw wheels- so I spent the lowest amount of cash I needed to get solid parts.
The topic ‘anyone tried fitting 27.5 wheels on 26 frame and forks’ is closed to new replies. The Specialized Hillbilly GRID T9 tyre is the product that we wonder how we ever lived without Acceleration is faster and easier on smaller wheels compared to larger ones. This means when comparing 26 inch wheels and 27.5 inch wheels, acceleration performance is better on the 26 inch wheels. This is thanks to lower weight which creates a lower moment of inertia. The result is faster acceleration. APWM. 420 306 259 757 59 564 302 955
